I recently started taking Aspen to a puppy training class and learned that the regular kibble she works for at home does NOTHING when there are other dogs around. The trainer recommended this "Puppy Crack" as a high value treat that almost all dog love so I thought it was too good not to share.
This recipe is quite easy to follow. The trainer recommended putting the treats in the microwave but I found that using the "cheap" hotdogs caused them to burn very fast so the oven was a better option.
How to make Puppy Crack Treats
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 260.
Step 2. Cut your chosen brand of hotdogs into quarters. If you're able to make them similar sized they'll cook more evenly but if not your dog won't mind!
Step 5. Enjoy! You can store these treats in an airtight container for up to a week. I usually keep them in a baggie in the fridge but they're such a success they don't last more than a few days.
